Minas Borboudakis

Minas Borboudakis was born in in Heraklion, Greece, in 1974. From 1992 he studied composition and piano in Munich and Hamburg. He attended master classes with Luciano Berio, George Crumb, Wolfgang Rihm, Rudolf Kehrer and Aleksey Nasedkin. Borboudakis has been awarded numerous grants and prizes for his work, including a scholarship from the International Summer Academy at the Salzburg Mozarteum (2000), a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2007), the third prize at the Günter Bialas International Chamber Music Competition (2002), the Rodion Shchedrin Chamber Music Prize (2005), and the Christoph & Stephan Kaske Foundation Award.
