On October 4th at the Festival Musica in Strasbourg, France the Quartuor Diotima premiered Visual Exformation, a string quartet by Jesper Nordin. The intricate piece was commissioned by GRAME, Lyon and Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik. The work involves the ensemble sitting within a light installation that transforms throughout the piece’s four movements. There are several performances scheduled, and the trailer can be viewed below. The installation is now on display at the Fresnoy in France. In related news, Nordin’s orchestral suite Röster was premiered in full on October 13th by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and will have a recording date in 2018.
