Bowie Confessed To Having Been Terrified By Black Angels
David Bowie Included George Crumb's BLACK ANGELS on his List of 25 Favorite Vinyl Albums
The recent passing of David Bowie has resulted in an amazing outpouring of well-deserved reminisces, eulogies, obituaries and testimonials. From among this flood of material a particularly interesting article was brought to our attention by Winston Cook-Wilson. Winston was the rental manager at Peters NYC. He has gone on to be a freelance culture writer who contributes to Inverse, Pitchfork and other sites. The article in question originally appeared in Vanity Fair in 2013 under the title Confessions of a Vinyl Junkie. Bowie included works by Partch, Reich and Stravinsky as well as BLACK ANGELS.
