Rakowski To Be Inducted Into The AAAL

Composer among Class of 12
The American Academy of Arts and Letters has announced the new class of inductees to their 250-person organization. David Rakowski was chosen alongside composers Sebastian Currier and Paul Lansky to join this prestigious honor society. Works by the new class will be on display at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York City from May 19 to June 12.
The Academy was founded in 1898 to honor the country’s leading architects, artists, composers, and writers. The purpose of the society is to encourage and sustain America’s literature, music, and art and awards over 70 prizes a year. Founder members included Theodore Roosevelt, Henry James, and Woodrow Wilson. The organization is currently housed in three buildings located on Audubon Terrace on 155th Street and Broadway in New York City.
